The Truro School Art Collection Goes on an Outing

The Truro School Art Collection Goes on an Outing
Tuesday 30 January – Saturday 18 May 2024
Royal Cornwall Museum

This rarely seen Collection is only the second time that it has been featured in an exhibition at the Royal Cornwall Museum. The exhibition draws from David Heseltine’s unique personal archive and anecdotal reminiscences that amplify the personal generosity of the many artists whom he visited in their studios who either gifted to the Collection or whom he purchased from. Iconic artworks from the St Ives and West Penwith/Newlyn halls of fame and Falmouth Art School tutors and alumni.

Arranging a reunion

If you would like to organise a reunion, either at the School or elsewhere – please get in touch with us to assist you with any arrangements at [email protected].

Truro School Connected

Many Old Truronians return to visit the Sixth Form, ready to inspire our current students through talks and workshops, often offering personalised advice whilst here. OT’s also play an essential role in delivering our Medical Pathways Programme.

Truro School Connected is as important in shaping the achievements of our younger alumni as it is in helping them towards their next steps at 18. Recent alumni are encouraged to make use of Truro School Connected through the Development team and are invited to networking events in London and Bristol. These play an essential role in bringing members of our community together and provide a platform for professional and social networking long after a student has left the Sixth Form. Find out more about Truro School Connected here.

School Visits

Alumni are also welcome to visit the School and grounds at any time during School hours. We would be delighted to chaperone you and any guests around the School, taking you back to any memorable classrooms and showing you what may have changed since your time. If you would like to arrange a visit, please email the Development team at [email protected].

School Events

As well as special Old Truronian events, alumni are very welcome to other School events such as performances at the Burrell Theatre and exhibition viewings of beautiful exhibitions at the Heseltine Gallery, which is open to the public at selected times.  The School will also once again host a stand at the Royal Cornwall Show in 2023. Come visit us there for refreshments and a chat.

The Truro School Identity

Our school motto, Esse Quam Videri (to be, rather than to seem to be), captures the essence of our identity and is defined by the 5 C's below. Underpinned by strong Christian principles, we are a caring and inclusive community which values, nurtures and develops each individual.
